The Fire Technicians Network / Le Réseau de Techniciens Incendie is a Canadian federally incorporated non-profit professional association, founded in 2007, with the mandate of providing education, training, and mentoring to individuals engaged in the installation, maintenance, service, inspection, and testing of building life safety equipment and systems.  The jurisdictional authorities tasked with enforcing the various Codes and Standards governing our industry are also fully supported partners within this mandate.

This website is the premier building life safety technical resource in Canada, where you’ll find a wealth of information to make YOUR job simpler, more effective, and ultimately, more rewarding.  We not only want you to succeed, we want to ensure that success is going to take your career to the next level while protecting the people that matter the most.

March 2017 marks the launch of a new Canadian based initiative for the professional training and Certification for technicians servicing and testing building life safety equipment.  The Fire Technicians Network Certification Programme represents the Gold Standard of professional practice and a new benchmark for our industry that will ensure the vital services our members provide are delivered without compromise to the various communities in which they work, and that elect to support this initiative.  Our watchwords vigilance, knowledge, and integrity represent the core values of every FTN Certified member and are embedded in the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct they are enjoined to support.

Our knowledge base of FAQs now feature answers to more than 1100 questions (and are being continuously updated and appended).  Join our fire alarm forums where you can share your experiences and expertise with others.  Download inspection forms and explore our library of links, informative tips  and suggested testing procedures.  Subscribe to our live RSS feed* and stay up-to-date with manufacturer’s bulletins, recall alerts, and technical notes.  You can also open a whole tool-box of valuable links to exclusive installation guides, NFPA Standards, and agency listings.  Our programmes & services and other events pages offer you opportunities to expand on your knowledge, meet like-minded people, and accelerate your career.  Association members can also download manuals, installation and service instructions that may not be otherwise available from our extensive library.
